Advantages of Installing A Safety Cover

One of the biggest advantages of installing a safety cover onto your inground pool is that it keeps leaves, twigs, insects, and other debris out during the winter months. This virtually eliminates the problem of discoloration that leaves, debris, and other objects may cause in your pool. This is particularly helpful in the Atlanta area, where trees shed their leaves starting in the fall and they continue to be blown into your pool throughout the winter months. Your pool cover will also help with the prevention of pets, deer, fox, and other small animals falling into your pool’s icy water, ensuring that you do not have a “situation” to deal with. A safety cover is a major help for when your pool is ready to be opened; the clean-up time is reduced and you will have a much easier pool startup for the summer.

Keep Children Safe With A Pool Cover

If you are concerned about the safety of young children who have access to your pool area, a safety cover is definitely an option for you to consider. Both the solid safety cover and mesh safety cover will prevent your little ones from falling into your pool, and give you peace of mind.

Drowning is the second leading cause of death for children aged one through 14, and if children will be near your pool it’s important to make sure the area is safe! Safety covers come in two varieties: mesh or solid. Both are anchored to the deck and keep children from following into the pool, but they have different uses.

Mesh safety pool covers are designed for long-term use, such as closing your inground pool for winter. They require little maintenance because debris, such as leaves or dirt, blows off the top of the cover while precipitation like rain and snow drains through the mesh panels. However, some silt may wash through the screen, and when you reopen the pool the next season, you’ll need to do some in depth cleaning.

Solid safety pools do not allow any water to drain through, which means that rain can accumulate in a puddle on top of the cover. This collected water can be dangerous for children who wander onto the cover. A solid safety pool cover is a good choice for short-term use during the summer season.

Other Pool Covers:

We do offer vinyl pool covers that are secured with water bags.

Custom Safety Covers

Each of our safety covers is custom fit toyour pool, so that you can be confident that every inch of your pool is protected from the elements. A pool safety cover is secured with straps, sting, and anchors, all of which are planned according to the size and shape of your pool. The tension on the cover needs to be strong enough to keep the cover taut, but not put stress on the material. Anchors are installed directly in the concrete pool deck. They are smooth and unobtrusive, and you simply pop them up when you’re ready to put the cover on.

Be sure to take care to clean the debris from your cover every time you take it off of the pool and store it in a dry area. When using your cover, make sure that the cover is secured tightly and at the proper tension. Never swim in the pool with a partially installed cover and take care to keep chemicals at their proper level to prevent wear on the cover.
