As of today, summer is officially ending. However, that doesn’t mean that there’s not some good “bonus time” we can take advantage of before it actually gets cold. While summer may be over on the calendars, we’ve still got a few weeks of warm air ahead of us, and that’s why it’s more important now than ever to make good use of that time!
If you own a custom pool, it’s possible you’ve fallen into the same trap that many other pool owners have — barely using your pool during the summer months. Indeed, it’s easy to take an amazing backyard pool for granted, until the weather starts getting chilly and you suddenly realize how little you’ve actually used it.
As custom pool designers in the Conyers and Atlanta area, nothing hurts our heart more than an unused pool. So, before summer truly ends, consider taking advantage of your sweet pool by doing any of the following things:
Get Some Good Workouts In
It’s no secret that pools afford some of the best exercise opportunities for just about anyone. Water is easy on the joints, but it can also be extremely demanding from a cardio standpoint, creating all kinds of ways for you to work your body.
Did you not end up achieving that beach body that you totally convinced yourself you’d have this summer? Instead of sulking about it, jump into your custom pool, and start swimming some laps! Sure, you won’t be able to do it in the coming seasons, but sometimes, the most important aspect of getting healthy is simply forming a habit. Maybe if you get used to doing water workouts in these last few summer weeks, you’ll be more motivated to hit the gym once your pool has closed up shop.
Have a Killer Barbecue
There are two things in this world that we can be positive everybody loves: puppies and barbecues. Seriously, what’s better than a big ol’ slab of meat cooked to perfection on a hissing grill? The food is delicious, it’s great for bonding, and it gives you an excuse to relax outside.
Of course, no BBQ would be complete without spending some quality time in the custom pool. Why not fire up the grill and tell everyone to jump in while you get to work roasting those sirloin cuts? Friends and family will have fun in the sun, and they’ll use up more than enough energy to leave them hungry and wanting for food. You can’t just have barbecues whenever you want in the wintertime — finish summer off right by hosting one that will be remembered for years to come!
Have a Photoshoot
Okay, you can skip this point if you’re not really one to take pictures, but just consider this for a moment — water can provide some really cool photo opportunities, and what better place to take advantage of that than your own personal pool? Any photographer knows that getting pictures in a public pool is a nightmare, but at your own home, you have complete control over who is in the pool, how you want to light it, and so on.
Even if you’re not the type of person to take regular pictures, a good photoshoot every once in a while never hurt anyone. It can be a great excuse to have new photos for your social profiles, or lovely pieces to put on your wall at home. In any case, if you have any aspirations to have a photoshoot in water, a custom pool is the best place to do it, and time is ticking!
Renovate Your Pool With a Cool New Feature:
It may seem strange to renovate your custom pool at the end of the season, but it actually makes a lot of sense. A lot of people put off renovations because they want to use their pool instead of seeing it under construction for a prolonged period of time. By adding onto your pool at the end of summer, you’re ensuring that it will be primed and ready to go when next year rolls around.
While it’s a bummer not being able to take advantage of a cool new pool feature when it’s freshly installed, it will give you that much more motivation to get good use out of it next year! You’ll love having a brand new pool to open the season up to.
